Melanie "Mel C" Chisholm has gotten married, and the details read like a very specific kind of 2026 fairy tale: a dating app, a lakeside property in Cumbria, and a wedding dress designed by a former bandmate. On July 18, Mel C married Australian model and producer Chris Dingwall at a friend's property near Castle Carrock in the Lake District, in front of a tight guest list and a grassy aisle rather than a formal one.
Wedding number two
The English ceremony was technically a sequel. The couple had already made things legal earlier in the year in Australia, where Chris is based, with the Lake District event serving as the larger celebration for family and friends. Dingwall is represented by agencies including Ford and Chadwick, has modeled for brands like The North Face, and works as a writer and director within Sydney's creative scene. Mel has described his presence as "very calming," both for her and for her teenage daughter Scarlet, saying simply, "he just fits."
From Raya to a proposal in Mallorca
The relationship began in 2023 on Raya, the selective dating app, while Mel was 49 and, by her own account, not particularly looking. They quickly became, in her words, "difficult to separate." By summer 2025 they were on holiday in Mallorca when Chris proposed after a long tasting menu dinner, returning to a candlelit hotel suite for the moment itself. "He could not believe I did not see it coming," she said.
Two dresses, one designer
For the low-key Australian ceremony, Mel wore a lace cami slip from Victoria Beckham's label, and when the original order didn't fit quite right, Victoria lent her an identical piece from her own wardrobe. For the Lake District celebration, Beckham went fully bespoke: an ivory satin slip gown with hand-placed floral Lyon lace appliqué, a scooped open back and a soft train, styled with minimalist VB heels. Fellow Spice Girls Emma Bunton, Geri Halliwell-Horner and Mel B were all there to see it in person; Victoria herself couldn't attend due to World Cup commitments in the US, though her handiwork did the talking anyway.
