Two decades after the original, The Devil Wears Prada 2 brings Andy Sachs, Emily Charlton and Miranda Priestly back together to revive their fictional magazine, and true to the first film's habit of stacking the background with real fashion and entertainment names, the sequel is packed with cameos. One notable absence: Gisele Bündchen, whose Chanel-boots scene as Serena remains one of the original's most memorable moments. Director David Frankel told Entertainment Weekly the production had reached out, but she was having a baby, born in February 2025 with husband Joaquim Valente, during last summer's shoot, making scheduling impossible. Euphoria's Sydney Sweeney was also cut from the final film.

New cast, real stakes

Justin Theroux joins as Benji Barnes, Emily Charlton's new love interest and a tech billionaire reportedly modeled on a real business figure, described as a deliberately "loathsome" character, with Lucy Liu playing his ex-wife. Simone Ashley steps in as Amari Bari, Miranda's new first assistant, while Lady Gaga appears as a pop star and contributed several songs to the film, including one with Doechii, after a personal recruiting call from Meryl Streep herself. "I just said, would you do this? Because it's going to be really good. And she said yeah," Streep recounted.

The blink-and-you'll-miss-them appearances

George Clooney doesn't appear in person, but his real villa, Villa Oleandra in northern Italy, shows up as a backdrop, a detail Clooney called special given his friendship with Emily Blunt, who married John Krasinski there in 2010. Elsewhere, Amelia Dimoldenberg turns up at a party scene, Caleb Hearon plays Miranda's second assistant Charlie, and B.J. Novak appears as Jay Ravitz, a character causing trouble for Runway. The fashion-world cameos run deep: Donatella Versace filming a scene in Milan, Naomi Campbell seated beside Miranda during real Dolce & Gabbana runway footage, Marc Jacobs fitting Miranda for a dress, and former magazine editor Tina Brown in a fashion-packed crowd scene. Former Summer House stars Hannah Berner and Paige DeSorbo squeezed in a three-second cameo, which Berner announced on Instagram, and Heidi Klum returns for a nostalgic full-circle moment, having also appeared as herself in the original film.
